The Sâkêwêwak 2016 Storytellers Festival & Indigenous Artists' Symposium is a gathering of Indigenous artists, curators, advocates, and educators discussing art as a medium for change. This year's event includes performances and film screenings as well as workshops on digital storytelling, Indigenous narratives through political cartooning  and contemporary art, and exhibition preparation. Discussions will cover an array of topics from funding models to arts and education to pressing issues for contemporary Indigenous artists. Visit the Facebook event page for more programming details and updates.

The Sâkêwêwak Artists' Collective envisions a dynamic community of diverse artists who stimulate, share, exchange, engage and support the development of self-determined Indigenous art in a welcoming collaborative environment. Sâkêwêwak's mandate is to ensure that Indigenous artists within the city of Regina and surrounding areas are consistently provided with the space and environment that allows them to develop their self-determined artistic practices through critical exchange with their peers and audiences.
