"Featuring handmade hooked rugs created by participants from ArtHeart Community Art Centre, MABELLEarts, Sistering, SKETCH, and Workman Arts.

All are welcome, refreshments will be served. Remarks at 5:00pm

These programs were made possible through the generous contributions of Ruth Mandel – WHO GIVES Fund complemented by the Private Giving Foundation, TD Wealth, with community partnerships facilitated by ArtBridges."

According to the Textile Museum's event listing,  the community-engaged workshops with local non-profits "highlighted the longstanding connections between craft, social enterprise and community development. Encouraging creative expression and skill-building for individuals from at-risk and underserved communities, participants learned and engaged the techniques of rug hooking under the mentorship of contemporary artists Hannah Epstein, Heather Goodchild and Jen Manuell."

ArtBridges is a Canada-wide hub for community-engaged arts initiatives that connects people interested or active in community-engaged arts across Canada.
