Art became the oxygen: A guide to artistic response

August 7, 2017 by  Uncategorized /

In August 2017, the US Department of Arts of Culture (USDAC) has just released a free, downloadable 74-page "Guide for Artists, Emergency Management Agencies, Funders, Policy-Makers, and Communities Responding to Natural and Civil Emergencies".

Art became the oxygen is aimed for artists, resource-providers, disaster agencies and community members at large. To support artists and communities in organizing with care, creativity and compassion, the guide includes "first-person experience and guidance from respected voices deeply engaged in artistic response from Katrina to Ferguson, from Sandy to Standing Rock".

The guide can be downloaded at the USDAC website. By accessing the guide directly via the website, you will be able to receive updates about the guide. Please do share the link widely with your networks! #ArtResponds
